Lavender Waxbill - Estrilda caerulescens
The Gambia - November 2018
The Lavender Waxbill is native to central Africa, it has been introduced into the state of Hawaii in the United States. The Estrilda finches are thought to have originated in India, dispersing to Africa and to the east where they diversified into the several species currently in this genus.
