The Orange-cheeked Waxbill has a native range limited to western and central Africa.  The species has been introduced elsewhere in the world including Puerto Rico, Japan, Spain, and the United States.  The video framegrabs shown here are from recordings made in The Gambia during November 2018 - video link.  In the following photo this species is shown with a Lavender Waxbill, with which it attempted to mate.
