Giant Kingfisher - Megaceryle maxima maxima
The Gambia - November 2018
There are two subspecies of Giant Kingfisher, the subspecies found in The Gambia is the nominate form. This is the largest Kingfisher species found in Africa where it is found south of the Sahara, being absent only from the arid southwestern part of the continent.
